Top Nepalese official quits amid row over Chinese investment -

Shirish B. Pradhan (PTI) on the resignation of Modraj Dotel, Secretary in the Ministry of Culture of Nepal:

A top Nepalese official today resigned amid a row over proposed investment by a China-based agency in Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha on the Nepal-India border. “I have resigned as works are being done in non-transparent way which has become a matter of concern for us,” he was quoted as saying by Annapurna Post daily, before heading to India’s religious city of Kashi.
