Indian army gets final nod to deploy 80,000 troops
The Times of India reports:
The ball has been set rolling for the Army to raise a new mountain “strike” corps with two “independent” infantry brigades and two “independent” armoured brigades, totalling over 80,000 soldiers, along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
The other side of the new roads in Tibet. While in Nepal, the extensive road construction on Chinese side is often seen as opportunity for trade – with all its ambivalences – in India it is mostly conceived of as military threat.
